
About Northwell Health Hidden Camera Claims
Former Northwell Health employee Sanjai Syamaprasad is accused of using fake cameras disguised as smoke detectors to illegally record people using facility bathrooms. Victims include patients and employees.
The scandal was discovered in April, 2024, however the victims were not notified of the illegal recordings until a year after the fact.
According to a 2025 letter sent to victims, Syamaprasad purchased the hidden cameras in August, 2022. The exact amount of time he spend recording victims, however, is unclear. Syamaprasad has been criminally charged with unlawful surveillance (5 counts) and tampering with evidence.
